Migori Super Stars was created by Moses Ariwa who went by a stage name Musa Olwete in the mid 1970s. Musa had been a musician with DO Misiani's Shirati Jazz.

He left together with Sospeter Nyadhi, to form Mori River Jazz from where he later quit to form Migori Jazz Band that recorded at Chandarana. Latter he sighed for Oluoch Kanindo's POK and chnaged the name from Migori Jazz Band to Migori Super Stars.Members if the band were Ajelo wuod gi Yuni ja Magunga, Kasongo wuod gi Ayiera, Okwogo Kirage wuod Otaja, Omari Faisa, Ariko Kogwayo, Onyango Jamba among others.
