Nyboma Mwandido, renowned under his stage alias Nyboma, emerges as a towering figure in the tapestry of African music. Originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo, formerly recognized as the Belgian Congo, Nyboma's journey commenced in 1945.

His musical odyssey began with the Orchestre Negro Succes, but it was with subsequent ventures like Baby National and Bella Bella where his talents began to shine. Nyboma's breakout moment arrived with the formation of Lipua Lipua, catapulting him to stardom with the timeless hit "Kamale." Subsequent endeavors, including Les Kamale, further solidified his reputation as a maestro of the dance floor, churning out hits like "Salanga" and "Afida na ngai" throughout the 1970s.

Nyboma's musical pilgrimage traversed borders, culminating in collaborations with luminaries such as Pepe Kalle in Empire Bakuba and Koffi Olomide in Les Quatre Etoiles. Notable among his discography is the album "Anicet," a testament to his collaboration with producer Ibrahim Sylla, featuring intricately layered compositions and poignant tributes to figures like Malcolm X and Pan-Africanism.

The resonance of Nyboma's artistry extends beyond solo ventures, evidenced by collaborative efforts with the likes of Pepe Kalle, Madilu System, Kamale, and Lokassa Ya Mbongo.
