Paco Séry is an Ivorian jazz-fusion master who taught himself to play on homemade drums by age ten. After moving to Paris in 1980 at the invitation of Eddy Louiss, the left-handed virtuoso became a powerhouse session player for legends like Nina Simone, Manu Dibango, and Joe Zawinul, who famously called him the greatest drummer he ever played with.Alongside his work with the band Sixun, Séry leads his own group, blends traditional African polyrhythms with modern jazz, and incorporates the haunting sounds of the kalimba into his dynamic performances.Want to share more about Paco Séry?
