Sarah Birungi was a celebrated Ugandan vocalist and the lead singer of the Iro Stars Band, emerging as a powerful female voice in the late 1990s. She is best remembered for her hit song "Okukula Kwetta," as well as popular tracks like "Asanyusa Obulamu" and "Mwami," which blended soulful vocals with social commentary. Her career was tragically cut short when she passed away in June 2002 in Maganjo. Today, she is honored as a legend of the Kadongo Kamu genre, and her music continues to define the classic "Zilizopendwa" era of East African radio.
