He was once a member of the seminal band TPOK Jazz which dominated the Congolese scene from the 1960s to 1980s. The legend's alluring and much-informing songs Matata ya Mwasi, Si Je Savaic Ca, Nzele, Vice versa, Coesure Bureau, RTC River, Ya Jean, Colonisation, and many others are still perfect and irreplaceable. Biography of Verckys & Orchestra Vévé. Georges Kiamuangana was born in Kisantu, Bas-Congo on 19 May 1944. He took the name Verckys after being impressed with American sax player King Curtis and he heard the name "Curtis" as "Verckys." He started out in 1962 with Los Cantina, then Jamel Jazz. He joined Paul Ebengo a.k.a.
