Anna Mwale is one of Zambia’s most prominent musical exports, rising to international fame in the early 1980s with a vibrant sound that blended Southern and Eastern African rhythms with European synths, disco, and reggae. After beginning her journey as a member of the Mwale Sisters, she launched a successful solo career highlighted by her breakthrough 1984 album African Song and the massive hit "Ex-E-Cuse Me," which became an overnight success in Spain and across East Africa. Other signature tracks like "Kabuku Langa," "Mama Mwale," and her popular cover of "Pata Pata" cemented her status as a global performer.
